The Volcano

Seeing the steam come out of the crater was pretty cool. It was super windy and quite desolate. It really gave you a good idea of what the beginning of the Earth looked like.

They were hoping to see some red lava. That came later in the trip.

Here was part of the eruption that took out some vegetation.

The volcano was sending out a lot of gasses. They called it "Vog" because it made the sky seem like there was fog but it was really hazardous gas. They actually closed down some of the roads and didn't let visitors with health problems to get to close.

Yes, this is Jacob trying to get a facial. The picture didn't look to great the other way around. He is hanging over one of the sulfur flumes. He smelled great after this stop!
